The Path Forward: Israelis and Palestinians Working Together for Peace
- When
- Sunday, November 8 · 3:00 pm
Join us for a viewing of the documentary The Path Forward and a conversation with the filmmakers. The Path Forward is a new documentary about Palestinians and Israelis modeling a peaceful future. Despite their painful personal losses, the subjects reject violence, grieve together, learn each other’s history, find empathy for each other, and become activists for coexistence and peace. We hear their courageous voices, see their tears, and are inspired by their resolve to create a new path forward. Filmed before and after October 7, the film features three pairs of Palestinians and Israelis: Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon, who both lost family members to the conflict (Maoz’s parents were killed in their kibbutz on October 7, 2023); Sally Abed and Alon Lee Green of the coexistence group Standing Together; and Yael Braudo-Bahat of Women Wage Peace and Riman Barakat of FeelBeit, an Israeli-Palestinian Cultural Arts Center. Following the 40-minute film, we’ll have a discussion with the filmmakers. Julie Cohen, a Jewish American, produced and co-directed the film. She is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker who made RBG and Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down. Co-director Mo Husseini is a Palestinian American filmmaker and writer. CST member Susan Stern will moderate the discussion. In person only at CST. Free and open to nonmembers. Advance registration required.
